Patriotism in PRV

A simple walk around our complex shows that there is a lot of patriotism in PRV – this will be a collection of photos and, hopefully, some of your thoughts on this country of ours. Despite what we think is wrong with it, there is a lot more right with it. Most of us wouldn’t trade being here with being anywhere else. 

Did you think Betsy Ross made the first American flag? According to "Flag of the United States," Microsoft® Encarta® Online Encyclopedia 2003, http://encarta.msn.com,  there is no link between Betsy and the flag.

On June 14, 1777, Congress made the following resolution: “The flag of the United States shall be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white, with a union of thirteen stars of white on a blue field ...” Official announcement of the new flag was not made until September 3, 1777. When it was first flown has not been determined. Historical research has failed to establish a factual foundation for the traditional story that the flagmaker Betsy Ross made the first American flag.
