Approved Deck Divider Treatment

Do's and Dont's

  • Summer: You can put certain items under the deck such as child’s pool if it doesn’t interfere with lawn car and doesn’t look like clutter (we try to keep the grounds looking neat for all of us!), but filled pools should not be left unattended and absolutely never left out overnight! Let’s keep our children safe!
  • Spring/Fall/Winter: Nothing is to be stored under the deck.
  • NOTE: Toys normally allowed under the deck in warm weather are NOT allowed during the cold winter months.
  • No fence or lattice is allowed under or around decks.
Staining your Deck
It was decided at the August 2003 board meeting that owners would be allowed to stain their decks under certain circumstances.

We have chosen 'official' deck stain. It's a good quality dark stain that blends in well with the natural look of the deck. It takes 2 gallons of stain to do the job. This stain will be provided to you by Fred Stevens. It takes about 12 hours or more to stain a deck, and it must be brushed on, not sprayed. If you want to take on the job or have any questions, please contact Fred through our email ,or drop by his unit, #3 Lexington. You may NOT purchase or obtain your own stain. This is important.

Approved Deck Divider Treatment
The board recently granted the request of a unit owner to modify her deck.  Theresa asked the board if she could attach a bamboo divider to the deck divider to provide more privacy. The bamboo divider is simply a roll-up blind that is the appropriate size. It is attached on two hooks at the top of the divider and unrolled. It is not permanently attached in any other way. It creates a very nice 'oasis' effect.

If you want to do something like this, please remember, each request MUST have board approval.
