Water Storage Project Board Meetings, Minutes, Newsletter
Thank you to all members who provided your 'yes' vote before the meeting and for those who attended the meeting. Fred introduced himself, gave a history of the project and brought the attendees up-to-date. He then introduced Steve Richer, our accountant, who proposed a financial plan which includes borrowing enough to accomplish this project and finish the remaining 12 roofs while maintaining a healthy reserve balance. There will be no condo fee increase nor special assessment based on this plan. More..

The next regular board meeting is Monday, August 2nd at 6:00p.m. at 3 Lexington. Please let the board know if you will be attending.

Questions to the board may be addressed to board@paulreverevillage.com or you can use the form on the web. Our clerk, Laurie Guptill, receives all these emails and directs them to the appropriate person. Concerns, comments, etc. sent by email are addressed at each board meeting.

YTD financials dated June 30 are posted in the private members section. If you do not know the owner ID and password, just ask.

PRV Open House? Pet Community

There are many of us who have done renovations and improvements to our units- why not share your ideas (or disasters) with your neighbors? If we have 10 units or more willing to show their homes, we could have a "tour" for about 2 hrs on a Saturday or Sunday- PRVA homeowners only (not open to the public). What a fun way to get some home improvement or decorating ideas from your neighbors- I know I want to see hardwood floors, as we are considering pulling up the carpet in the dining room. I'd also like to see some units with finished basements- and I need a good reason to clean my house! We'll keep track here.  Please email Board@PaulRevereVillage.com - Laurie

Maintenance List

Real Estate Statistics Updated

We now have two maintenance lists on the web. Just check under the 'Official' tab and then choose 'Maintenance'. There you'll see the roof and the 2004 list. When the units on the market are sold, the number of units sold so far in 2004 will be 13, the same as the total last year. And the average price IS...
Why difficult people are like sandpaper Hey....Sassafras
You have no doubt come across people in the workplace (and occasionally in your personal life) who are ... ummm ... shall we say ... "difficult to work with". Look at it from this point of view.

Beginning this month, we have a column from 'The Ole Woodsman'. Preferring to keep his identity from us all, this wise old man will share facts about our grounds. He starts right here...

Hiking In PRV Woods

Newlyweds in PRV

Adam Young and Maureen McDonnell of 7 VG were married on July 10th in Holyoke MA. Now they have time to unpack the rest of the boxes from moving in at the end of April!! Chapter 2 -  All garbed up with my water bladder backpack, Tilley hat, mosquito net, bug spray, etc., we stepped into our 'forest'. As soon as I was 'out of sight', I sprayed the bug spray on, put my hat and net over my head and off we went. Shortly after I took off Max's leash. Losing Max and Finding a Mansion

As an essential first step in dealing successfully with difficult people, you must change your perspective. You can no longer see these people as a hindrance; you have to see them as a help. That may sound counterintuitive, but it makes sense if you think of these people as if they were sandpaper. Like sandpaper, they're abrasive and rub you the wrong way. And as with sandpaper, the final finished product (you) has a smoother and more professional finish.

It is only as a result of your experiences with these difficult people that you are able to further develop and polish the skills to effectively deal with them. The more they chafe you, the better you become. If you keep this fundamental idea in mind, it forms a positive first step towards developing a better working relationship with the difficult people in your life. Remember this the next time you come face to face with one of these individuals. While it may not lessen the abrasiveness, it should dull the pain.
