The Central
Mass. Mosquito Control Project relies mainly on
four different products for biological/chemical
mosquito control as part of an Integrated Pest
Management (IPM) program. Two are for larval
control, two are used for larvae and pupae, and
two are for adult mosquito control. For detailed
information, please check out the Central
Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (www.cmmcp.org),
a not-for-profit organization.
From the website:
"The goal is
to reduce mosquito exposure to the public,
and potential for disease transmission by
mosquitoes, by utilizing proven, sound
mosquito control techniques. CMMCP believes
the best way to accomplish this task is by
practicing and Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
approach as it relates to mosquito control
in Massachusetts."
For
further information about the pesticides used,
please see the website
www.cmmcp.org.
The
product for mosquito spraying has a
very low toxicity to mammals, as well as
dogs, cats, birds and other organisms.

| Everyone
knows someone affected by heart disease or
stroke. For those I love, I will be walking
in this year's Heart Walk in memory of my
Dad. I have set a personal goal to raise
funds for the American Heart Association and
need your help to reach my donation goal. We
are raising critical dollars for heart
disease and stroke research and education.
You can help
me reach my goal by making a donation
online. Click on the link below and you will
be taken to my personal donation page where
you can make a secure online credit card
donation. The American Heart Association's
online fundraising website has a minimum
donation amount of $25.00. If you prefer to
donate less, you can do so by sending a
check directly to me.
Your
donation will help fight our nation's No. 1
and No. 3 killers--heart disease and stroke.
You are making a difference. Thank you for
your support.

How
YOU Can Stop Mosquitoes!
Check
you unit and the area surrounding it...
If
there are any places where water collects...you
may be raising mosquitoes!
Get
rid of tin cans, bottles, jars, buckets, drums and
other containers, cover them, or empty and rinse
them on a weekly basis.

Every week you should...Change
water and scrub vases holding flowers or cuttings;
scrub and change water in bird baths; empty & rinse
water pans for pets.
REMEMBER
MOSQUITOES NEED STAGNANT WATER TO DEVELOP
-
EMPTY THOSE CONTAINERS!
