Give us a NAME

Board Meeting and Minutes

Let's give our enewsletter a name other than PRVA Newsletter. It's too confusing with the PRVA printed newsletters. Let's vote on a new name together. Just reply to this email with your ideas and next month we'll vote on one. Let's see....Paul's Pieces....Village Carrier...

The February board meeting - 3 Lexington on Feb. 2nd at 6:00p.m. You are welcome to attend, just let the board know.

Minutes from the December board meeting are posted in the private area. If you do not know the owner ID and password, just ask.

New Federal Email Law

Ever want to brag about where you live? Steer people here to see pictures of our buildings. Or, from the home page, just go to our picture gallery. The new Can-Spam Act of 2004. Why it does not affect us AND how you can now stop spam!

Historical Tidbits

In our 'tidbits' section, read how our logo was developed. We've got new pictures from the actual location of the Steakloft statue of Brownie and Paul!

Do you remember anything we can add to this section? Please let me know.

Value of Time -What is the value of time?  Consider this:

Living in Arizona for a couple of years emphasized to me how unique (and easy to spot) "Bostonians" are..

Articles

Discussion Board - a great place to connect

Demystifying Digital Cameras - Pixels, dots and resolution - Are words like megapixels, resolution, image size, dpi, and memory cards leaving you feeling just a little left out because you haven’t grasped what they really are yet? Come on out of that fog - more here - MF

Strong Condo Market  - Strong Condominium Market Weakens Rental Demand - article written by econtentplus for CAI - see it here

Looking to share a cord of firewood, how about pellets?

Want someone to walk your dog or want to walk one?

Want to share your experience with vendors you would recommend? Just write about it on the discussion board and I'll grab and enter on the vendor list.

Anyone else tried the Dogfather Bakery?

Permission-based Can-Spam Law - This is a good law. It will eventually weed out most of those annoying spam emails. The new law applies to all e-mail – including business-to-consumer and business-to-business – for which the primary purpose is the commercial advertisement or promotion of a commercial product or service must include:

1. There MUST be a physical address in the email
2. There MUST be an option to get off that list (called opt-out)
3. There MUST be a way to reply to the email
4. The subject line MUST be correct and not devious
5. If an opt-out is received, it MUST be taken off the list within 10 days.

All of you are owners at Paul Revere Village and this is not a commercial email. We would, of course, honor anyone's request to be removed from our list. More about the Can-Spam Act of 2004 can be seen here. For a look at the law itself, look here.

Value of Time
What is the value of time?  Consider this:

Value of ten years: Ask a newly divorced couple.
Value of four years: Ask a graduate.
Value of one year: Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
Value of nine months: Ask a mother who gave birth to a still born.
Value of one month: Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
Value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
Value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting for a date.
Value of one minute: Ask a person who has missed the plane.
Value of one-second: Ask a person who has survived an accident.
Value of one millisecond: Ask the person who has won a silver medal.
Value of a friend: Lose one and know.

Time waits for no one. No one knows the number of days in his life. Treasure every moment you have and seek that which is eternal.
