Saturdays and Sundays March 4, 2006 - March 19, 2006
11:00 AM-3:30 PM

Join State Park staff and National Park Service volunteers from the John H. Chaffee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor to learn how to gather maple sap and make it into syrup. It’s our fifth year and the program continues to expand. This year we have added a newly built sugar house.

Visitors learn the basics of sugaring including identifying maple trees, tapping techniques, and boiling the sap into syrup. You can help us tap the trees and gather the sap. The program also explains how you can start your own sugaring project at home with items you may already have and the purchase of a few inexpensive taps.

There is no cost for the event. It is great fun for kids of all ages. Come on by and find out …. how sweet it is! (submitted by Diane R.)

Financials through January 2006 are posted here. Don't know the password? Email me or the board. Minutes through January 2006 are posted here.

Board Meetings are normally scheduled for the 1st Monday of each month, at 3 Lexington, 6:00p.m. Please email the board , or let them know another way, if you are going to attend. If you have concerns and want direct answers, this is the best way...attend and ask.

Newspaper collection day is Wed. March 8

Recycling is MANDATORY- our trash collection bills have doubled and recycling is the only way to keep our costs down!

Ole Woodsman Welcome Sophia Isabelle Mulé

At present we are blessed with wetlands surrounding the Paul Revere Complex. The earliest signs of life in this area appear in the wetlands.

Read about our 'swamps' here.

Joe and Shoshana Mulé, 1 Meetinghouse Lane, are the proud parents of a baby girl born January 26- 8lbs. 9 oz. Shoshana is not only a busy new mom, but our PRVA Treasurer.

Welcome to Jack Todd Sjolander Trips and Travels

My wife Carly and I had our first son! Jack Todd Sjolander was born at 1:08 PM on Monday, Feb 13th. He weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces, and is 20 inches tall -  Todd and Carly Sjolander, 14 Lexington Rd.

My niece Elisabeth in front of the Biltmore Estate.

To celebrate my niece's 9th birthday, I took my brother's family to Asheville, NC to visit the Biltmore Mansion. The Biltmore was the home of George Vanderbilt, grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt. Instead of building a "summer home" in Newport, he had the vision of creating a working farm in the beautiful mountains of western NC. The 250 room mansion was designed by Richard Morris Hunt and the 8,000 acres were landscaped by Frederick Law Olmsted, creator of our own Boston Gardens and Commons. We stayed on the grounds on the newly constructed Biltmore Inn and truly felt like a Vanderbilt for a weekend!- Laurie Guptill

Dog Attender Request

Now that my wonderful neighbors Brian and Stephanie have moved, I'm searching for someone willing to take my Gordon Setter, Jessica, out for a walk on rare occasions.  Will gladly compensate in cash or favorite beverage or something else appropriate.  She just  needs to be let out to do her thing, long walk not required.  Thanks!
